EXERCISE TWO: GREGOR MOVES ACROSS THE ROOM (2 min silent)
COLLABORATION:
Working in groups of TWO, each student will direct and shoot a 2 minute silent film, with the other student acting.
SCENERIO:
Based upon the Franz Kafka short story The Metamorphosis, the scene consists of the bug Gregor as he scurries across the room.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Silent Video.
2. Acting. Focus on directing the actors, think about their motivations. Remind the actors they are always listening and responding, even when they do not say anything.
3. Mise en Scene. What is the visual themes you are using? Is there an overall visual design?
4. Lighting. Use lighting to support the ideas, themes and motivations happening within your film.
5. Edited in Camera.
6. Consider the POV of the Camera During One Continuous Two Minute Shot
7. Completed Video on the Web. Upload the final video to either Youtube or Vimeo.
