I saved my Christmas tree, and cut small pieces and removed the bark placing them inside a new paint can.

A small hole in the lid of the can, allows vapors and flame to escape, but also limits oxygen.

About an hour on the fire, all smoke and flames from the can stopped. I then allowed everything to completely cool.

The charcoal draws with a smooth and silky mark.
