"Within these generative works, I aimed to create pieces that would reflect the feelings I am having about being stuck in a house without a studio, without the faculty in person, and without my cohorts in person. With the little equipment in my home in comparison to the studio, I began looking towards my bookshelves for the words that could possibly help me communicate what it is I am feeling. Though I did not want to prescribe myself to the readings I found, so I randomly selected books. In the instance of "Ode To Silverstein" I found a childhood book of poetry of mine using lines from Shea Silverstein's Falling Up. The case for the "Hands For Now" I found myself using the previous tools of my life to create a piece based around my own poetry. The way generative art has worked for me is that it allows me to try to separate strict analysis from my creative process and it has been so beneficial." — Cody
